Hi guys! pet owners (and any pet doctors?)
What does everyone think is likely to be happening in the future eg in 10- 20 years + with vet medicine? What advances are there likely to be in the medicine or in pet care?
Thanks!

future of veterinary medicine/ pet care:
interesting question, Thanks!
Im intrigued to see what people's opinions are...
some of my thoughts I've put in the blog (http://petdoctorforum.com/blog/?p=102)but essentially I feel there will be
advances in medicine to enable new treatments
advances in communication with pet owners by vets, using pet portals and other new mediums
more items in vet clinics will become "disposable" or "single-use" to keep disease transfer risk down (think MRSA), and to value our animal patients more highly

Do you think we will, or should, move away from the yearly vaccinations? Some say that yearly boosters are too frequent and that 3 yearly is better - there is even some agreement from the producers of the vaccines on this... or so I read somewhere?
Any thoughts!

Hi Doggy Secrets,
okay in non-specific terms, in the future, vaccination could be subject to change in the coming years as new vaccines become available for differentdiseases, or we replace current vaccines with better ones.
For the current situation, it is also a contriversial topic about whether to vaccinate every year-

I have started a new thread about current vaccine controversies here. (http://petdoctorforum.com/showthread.php?p=235#post235) As otherwise it will get too confusing!

as discussed also in the blog article here (http://petdoctorforum.com/blog/?p=130)
