cloning dogs...
this just got cheaper:
news last week just said that
Ra Jeongchan, the chief executive of Seoul-based RNL Bio.
said two cloned beagle puppies were born in the past week using a new patented cloning method used a different, new technique:
this method could reduce the cost of cloning a pet dog to about $50,000 within three years.
I could think of better things to do with US$50k but its very interesting....
I suspect this will become more common in the next decade as the price keeps coming down.
Apparently the price now is 100k and the new technique is different because it uses stem cells derived from fat tissue that greatly increases the likelihood of success.
Anyone got a dog clone here?
