Default Cat Broken Jaw Surgery

My cat has a broken jaw and is in need of surgery to repair. Can anyone give me an estimated cost of this type of surgery? What is the outcome? Things to be aware of? Financial assistance available?

Thanks!

it really is going to depend on the following factors:

1) your location- london or new york obviously expensive, a small town not

2) if its done by your GP vet or a specialist

3) type of fracture exactly- simple mandibular symphysis fracture needing a wire, or multiple fractures on the side of the jaw needing a plate or more complex surgery

4) how quickly he recovers and resumes eating, ie if he needs hospitalisiing for a week, this could be the same price as the actual operation

last broken jaw I fixed was about USD 750 region. Remember it all depends on how quickly he gets back to being able to eat- some cats need tube feeding for days or weeks afterwards so the bill could be a few thousand US?
